That’s right… when I draw a spaceship it usually has a rear view mirror in the window with fuzzy dice hanging on it.

How do I spend a typical Sunday afternoon in the fall? I take a picture of my Sunday Morning Sermon Notes with the camera on my Wacom MobileStudio Pro 16, pull that picture into Photoshop CC, plop down in a recliner with the tablet on my lap, lean back, get my feet up, turn on a football game and then I contemplate, ponder and meditate on my sermon notes… mainly during the commercials.

Here’s a “work in progress” of a tiny bit of a much larger illustration I’m working on.

I start with a pencil illustration, add flat color to it and then render the image.

I like to leave as much pencil work in the finished illustration as possible so that the “fingerprints of the artist” are still visible. 🙂

I just had cataract surgery on both eyes, so to give them a trial run I whipped up a creepy little leprechaun in honor of this weekends Notre Dame – Ball State football game. I live about an hour away from both schools, so I’ll be keeping an eye on this game… maybe two.

I’m not sure what’s digging holes in our backyard, but I’m pretty sure it probably looks something like this.

Sometimes I do things in English… and sometimes I do them again in French. ha

Another fantasy football game TEAM concept.

Ok, the last one of these for the week.

Another one of the “crayon kids” …although this one is holding a paintbrush for some reason.

Here’s another one of those “crayon kids”.

Because of client confidentiality, I can never post work that I am CURRENTLY working on, I have to wait until the client publishes it first and by that time I’ve pretty much forgotten that I ever did it because I’m immersed in whatever my present job is… but I was reminded of some Crayon Kids I did a while back that I don’t think I ever posted… so maybe I’ll put a few of them up this week.

Back to the concept drawing board…

I’ve been riding my bike a lot this summer and using an app that I really like called STRAVA. It keeps track of your mileage, the routes you ride, satellite maps, your other biker friends, all kinds of stuff. STRAVA keeps everything recorded for you on your own little blog, and, oh yeh… IT’S FREE! Being the hard-core cyclist that I am, I’m always looking for a reason to stop peddling and get off that bike seat, so I tend to take a lot of pictures on my rides and post them on my STRAVA page…. so if you’re curious about what my part of the world looks like, here you go…

Here are the books I did the covers for. If you’re interested in them you can find them HERE on the David C. Cook website.

Here’s the Prodigal Son cover I did for a series of books for Standard Publishing.
