Concept To Finish
I just finished up a job that was chocked full of black and white illustration. I took one of the small spots, added some color to it, and here you can see my process from start to finish.

I really like the fur texture around the tiger’s muzzle. It is neat how the technique is similar to some wildlife oil painting I have done. I would get the light and dark values done in acrylic and finishing it off with thin glazes of oil paint and medium. Your method is less stinky.
