I play a game called Elder Scrolls Online where I occasionally have to save the world from infestations of dragons, monsters and various other unsavory creatures. One of the things I like about the game is it allows you to construct your own custom characters. As I illustrated this picture of a fellow I designed, it occurred to me that there seems to be a serious disconnect between the character I see on my Xbox and the character I see in my head…

…anyway, this guy is an orc named WeaselHammer, he’s a tank and that’s his ferocious war chicken Frank who stands faithfully at his side, ready for action.

I had a hankering (Missouri Speak) to make pictures on my iPhone Xr with the ProCreate Pocket App, but I needed some sort of fine tip stylus to draw with, so I dug around on Amazon, took a shot in the dark and ordered an inexpensive Meko Fine Tip Stylus. I crossed my fingers and hoped it would work… and it actually did. In fact, it worked surprisingly well.
Super simple to turn on and off, charges with a USB, has a rubbery tip that feels good on the glass and my experience with their customer service was the best. I made a short video of my first attempt at using the stylus on my phone.

The story continues in issue five. THE FEW Comic Book Series is now available for purchase on Amazon in digital form. These are Kindle books and can be viewed on almost any device by using the FREE Kindle app. You can see them HERE.

Cookin’ up a stack of woofels… er… waffles.

The weather forecast here for Halloween… rain and possible snow… which means no trick-or-treaters at my house… which also means I get to eat the Halloween candy all by myself… scoreboard!

Jack-O-Lanterns have been around for centuries and probably originated from on old Irish Folktale about Jack who was pretty much a jerk when he was alive so when he died he was condemned to walk the earth with a lantern and that creeped the townsfolk out so they carved scary faces into turnips, potatoes and pumpkins, lit them up with candles, put them outside their houses and tried to scare old wandering Jack away with them.

I usually go to the store this time of year and stock up on candy for the Trick-Or-Treaters, then turn off all the lights at my house on Halloween night, pretend I’m not home and then eat the leftover Halloween candy on Sunday afternoon while watching a football game. Just creepin’ it real.

The mystery deepens in issue four. THE FEW Comic Book Series is now available for purchase on Amazon in digital form. These are Kindle books and can be viewed on almost any device by using the FREE Kindle app. You can see them HERE.

…and the story continues in issue three. THE FEW Comic Book Series is now available for purchase on Amazon in digital form. These are Kindle books and can be viewed on almost any device by using the FREE Kindle app. You can see them HERE.

The first three issues of THE FEW had wraparound covers. Here’s the one for episode two. These are available now on AMAZON as Kindle books and can be viewed on almost any device by using the free Kindle app. You can see them HERE.

In my spare time I’ve been working to get THE FEW comic book series ready for digital distribution. Over the course of three years these books have had multiple layout styles so I reworked them to all have one consistent boxed panel format. While I was at it, I reworked all the word balloons, tightened up the dialogue, changed some fonts and now THE FEW Comic Book Series is officially available for purchase on Amazon digitally. These are Kindle books and can be viewed on almost any device by using the free Kindle app. You can see them HERE.

After a couple of buckets of fried chicken and no napkins, the grizzly bear officially turned into a greasely bear.

The 13th Annual TourDeDonut Bicycle Race just happened, so I spent my weekend peddling around Troy, Ohio eating donuts and as if that wasn’t already enough to make it worth the trip, there was a bonus surprise for me. The city was also having an art exhibit featuring the work of Seward Johnson. His life-size painted bronze sculptures were all over the downtown area and they were amazing.

There was also a pretty great band filling the square with live music. What a great event! I’m thinking we need to put together a Brother Jones Bicycle Team, print up some custom bike jerseys and see if we can’t run them outa donuts next year!

Super busy right now. A quick color study from my sketchbook. I’m currently in rigorous training for the Tour De Donut… which basically means I’m on a first name basis with the folks at the local donut shop.

I was on a diet, but I donut care anymore because the Tour De Donut is right around the corner!!
