Load To Instagram Via Computer

Instagram is pretty exclusively a phone only app, but you can load images onto it using your computer. Here’s how… using a Google Chrome Browser, log onto your Instagram page. Then…

1. Click the 3 dots in the top right corner. (If you don’t have three dots you will be prompted to update your browser) 2. On the dropdown menu choose MORE TOOLS. 3. Then choose DEVELOPER TOOLS.

4. A page representing your phone appears. Choose your phone brand on the left and make sure the little device icon on the right is blue.

5. This is the most important step. REFRESH THE BROWSER.

6. Refreshing the browser makes the PLUS button appear. That is how you will access images from your computer.

The rest is pretty easy to figure out. Choose a picture, caption and hashtag it and load it up.

A lot of you asked me how to do this so I hope this was helpful. If you want to see a bunch of my older work, you can visit my Instagram Page HERE.

Muscle Cars

I’m not sure if anyone would classify a 1970 Mercury Montego as one of the old muscle cars… but if I’m going to do one for a job, it’s gonna end up looking like a muscle car of some sort.

Silver Dollar City Maps

When I was fresh out of college, the very first professional work I did was for SILVER DOLLAR CITY, an amusement park located in the Missouri Ozarks. I did several park maps and miscellaneous activity and coloring books for them. I just received an email and a picture from some folks in Oregon that said…

Mr. Jones: Just a note to say how much I enjoyed your Silver Dollar City artwork back in the day.  As a youth, I loved pouring over the Street Maps waiting till the next summer when my family would go down to the Ozarks. This season, my own children helped make a mural in our house in anticipation of our next trip.  It might look familiar. Thanks for the memories!

These folks created a mural in their house from one of my old SILVER DOLLAR CITY maps. How awesome is that!!

Riding the Carrotsel

Rabbits just can’t resist riding on a Carrotsel.

QuickTime Screen Capture

My friend James wondered if I might be able to throw up a DEMO on my digital painting process. I said I can’t because my old screen capture software no longer works on new IOS… and that got me thinking. After a quick investigation I discovered a little known feature on all Macs… Quicktime will do screen capture, so here is something I threw together super fast for James.

My process is really simple. I draw my pictures traditionally. Scan them into my computer (Photoshop) and make the DRAWING a MULTIPLY layer so I can see through it. I work on the layer BELOW to block in colors and put the finishing touches on the layer ABOVE the drawing. Pretty simple…. and the music is a clip from something my youngest son Pete wrote and produced.

Puttin’ On The Ritz

A little idea from my sketchbook that made the jump to color.

Brand New Old Stuff!

In 2011, I got an INSTAGRAM account, but never really used it because it was a “phone-only” app and extremely difficult to post artwork with, but I just discovered a workaround and now I can post artwork directly to Instagram from my computer. Now I have access to all kinds of stuff, so I plan to fill my Instagram page with brand new OLD artwork every day… so if you are interested in seeing brand new old stuff from me, come on over and subscribe to my Instagram page.

Poultry In Motion

He wasn’t the drummer we wanted, (he was no spring chicken) but he already had a set of drum sticks and said he would work for chicken feed, so we gave him a shot… and he was pretty good for a while (even though most of the time he was just winging it) but we finally had to let him go because he refused to work on frydays.

HorseFly

He’s sick, he’s home in bed, his throat hurts and he can barely talk… that’s right, he’s a hoarse fly.

Baby It’s WARM Outside

It was 16 below zero on Thursday. Three days later its 70 degrees warmer and Hoosiers are walking around town in flip-flops n party hats.

Baby It’s COLD Outside

Apparently we folks here in Indiana are experiencing the coldest Arctic outbreak in a generation. Windchills down to 60 below. At least its supposed to warm up tomorrow.

Tour de Donut

What if I told you there was a bicycle race where your ability to eat donuts was just as important as your ability to ride a bike fast? This summer in Troy, Ohio the Tour De Donut will take place. It is a timed ride and FIVE MINUTES will be DEDUCTED from your elapsed time for EVERY DONUT YOU EAT! I’m headed to Krispy Kreme right now so I can start training for this ride immediately!

A Few More Pages Done

I’m still working on THE FEW comic book series. Here is the rough and the panel art for the page I just completed. Issues 4, 5 & 6 are finished, but currently unavailable for purchase online.

You can visit THE FEW Online Comic Book Shop by clicking HERE.

Furry Lollypop Munchkin

OzMunchkin

I can’t exactly remember what the assignment was that had me create this little guy. It was probably just your typical Wizard Of Oz Munchkin Rodent holding a lollypop kind of job… the kind of work that always seems to end up on my drawing board. 🙂

Freshman College Project

College01

I ran across these in a closet the other day. Back when I was a freshman in college, one of my first art class assignments was to dream up and create a “dimensional” story. This is all that’s left of that old college project, a few of the cardboard stand-ups. I remember I entitled it Pedro Perez And The Cosmic Taco Jockeys. As I begin work on issue seven of THE FEW sci-fi comic, it seems I have traveled full circle and am back at the beginning point doing the same sort of thing that interested me back in my younger days. Funny how life works.
