eclectic artwork & other random things

A year or so ago, I developed a horse mascot named Flint for Frontier Book Club out on the west coast.

This week, while my wife was out of town, I decided to teach myself a 3-D modeling program called Nomad Sculpt… and I used good ole Flint as my guinea pig to learn how to sculpt. He’s a little rough, but I learned a lot working on him.

So why didn’t you go out of town with your wife, Dennis? Well… she did ask me if I wanted to go but I said, nah, I think I’ll just stay here… so Karen arrived in the Middle East about the same time all the excitement did…
This.is.AMAZING!! What a fabulous job and very impressive. I am learning Blender (free software) and sculpting and modeling are hard and you’ve done an amazing job. It would be so exciting to take your sculpt and end up retopologizing, rigging, texturing and animating it – wow. You could even bring it into a game engine like Unreal Engine (also free) and play your character in a 3D environment. You could also print your object using a 3D printer (totally out of my wheelhouse but still very cool). I hope all went well with your wife’s travels 🙂 Blessings! Grace
