    • …I know I got a bit wordy here, but if you can just fight your way through all that text I think… uhm… you will… uh…

  1. You make it look soooooo easy! I figured as much with the guaches, and much of the techniques learned with them is applicable to computer art. But painting with a mouse and photoshop brushes, how frustrating can this be!! It seems that what can be done with guaches in half an hour takes hours with the computer.

Your work is great. I will keep beating myself with the mouse.

    • …Carlos, I used to think the same thing. I thought I was SO much faster using gouache and thought it took SO much more time to do the same thing digitally. But once I put in a few hundred miles of painting with a digital brush I found that the computer is much faster, has a much broader palette of colors, and I am able to try a lot of things that I normally wouldn’t try with traditional art because I can just click away all the mistakes and try it again. It just takes a while up front to get your process figured out.

    • …don’t give up, Jeff. The blue crayon has always been the trickiest one in the entire box. Might I suggest you try again, but this time start with a yellow crayon…

  2. So excited to be following your blog=) I’m the girl with the kid that chewed up your “See With Me Bible” haha. Btw, have you seen how much they are going for online now that they are out of print?? I guess I shouldn’t have let her chew it up =/

    • …The SEE WITH ME does make a fine teething tool for the youngsters… it’s also a great source for fiber which should be a part of everyones healthy diet…

  3. hEY dENNIS, JUST A THOUGHT: nOTICE HOW “cARTOONABLE dIRK nOWITSKI IS? aND HOW OBVIOUS IT IS WHEN SOMEONE TYPES WITH THE CAPS LOCK ON?

    • HA! Jeff, guess what. I watched that game last night in a Hampton Inn in Irving Texas. I think all the Mavericks needed was my added Texas/Hoosier mojo to get them into the winners circle!

  4. You could have stayed at the Jordan inn.. Little more noisy but a nice price.
